The ranking

Ranked for your wallet, not ours

Every center is scored on four things, and every pick comes with a plain-English reason. We take no money from imaging centers, so the ranking has exactly one customer: you.

  • What you would actually pay

    Not the sticker price — your price. For cash payers that's the self-pay rate. For insured visitors we compute the incremental out-of-pocket for this scan given your deductible, coinsurance, out-of-pocket max, and the rest of your year.

  • Cash vs. insurance, decided honestly

    For every center we work the price out both ways and recommend whichever is cheaper for you — including the deductible trade-off. If running it through your plan is the better deal, that's what we tell you.

  • Distance from your ZIP

    Enter a ZIP and we sort by straight-line distance from your area, cap results at your max distance, and show everything on a map so you can weigh a shorter drive against a lower price.

  • Reputation you can check

    ACR accreditation, public review scores, and Press Ganey-style patient-satisfaction percentiles — blended into a "Top rated" ranking, with each signal shown separately so you can judge for yourself.

The data

Where the prices and ratings come from

Phone-verified cash prices

We call each center and confirm its self-pay price, then re-check it monthly. The date on every price tells you when it was last verified.

Federally mandated price files

Hospitals must publish their standard charges and insurers must publish their negotiated rates every month. We pull imaging prices from both — the same machine-readable files regulators require — to keep estimates current.

Quality you can verify

ACR accreditation is audited independently and renewed every three years. Patient-satisfaction percentiles come from Press Ganey-style surveys. Public review scores are shown with their counts — and never counted alone, because reviews can be gamed.
